MIDTERM UPDATE

Schedule progress: It’s starting to become clear that my initial estimate of needing 1 week of work for the demo and 2 weeks of work for the report may have been too optimistic. I am taking 6 courses this semester, and I want to prevent being caught off guard by a high workload at the end of the semester, so my new plan is to begin working on both of these deliverables during reading break.
Technical challenges: Since I have not begun to work on the project yet, there haven’t been any technical challenges encountered. I don’t expect to encounter many problems while writing the report though, since I am an undergrad and my report will not include any implementation on my part. My only anticipated difficulty is that my scope may be slightly too narrow and there may be a lack of information online regarding my topic, since the Oculus Quest is relatively new. My strategy for getting around this is gathering information from a friend of mine who works directly on the Quest team. If this still doesn’t provide enough meat to fill out the report, I may have to widen my scope.
Additional help needed: No help needed, but I have not received any marker feedback on the project pitch, so I would really appreciate some feedback from other students in the class to guide my progress a bit.
Adjustments to the proposal: Again, I suspect I may have to widen my scope, but since I have not had the time to work on the project yet, I can’t say for sure.
